KNOW MORE ABOUT THE CONTEST:
Narrative medicine teaches us that clinical pearls can be memorable if attached to real events or an actual person. Clinicians enjoy reading case reports and find them helpful in everyday practice. The Best Case Report Award is an opportunity for you to share with international colleagues the experience learned from one of the patient you have accompanied from the moment of trauma to the time of return to play.
HOW TO PRESENT THE STORY
Share the experience you have learned from a particular clinical case, a patient you have followed from injury to the return to play. Medicine practiced with narrative competence is a model for humane and effective medical practice and it acknowledges the power of narrative to change the way care is given and received.
It aims to address the relational and psychological dimensions that occur in tandem with physical illness, with the perspective to treat patients as humans with individual stories, rather than simply the symptoms displayed on their medical chart. We are not interested just in the clinical side of the story but also in human aspect.
Team doctors, physiotherapists, fitness coaches... You all have a story to tell.
